After a 2-0 start, Pella continues their preparation for the District opener when they host Chariton tomorrow night.

Coach Jay Mckinstrey says one area they have stressed heavily in the pre season and non district games is elevating their play and playing physical football. He says so far they have done that, but typically Chariton is a very physical football team and they’ll have to be ready tomorrow night. He says they have gone back to the type of smash mouth, running football team they used to be and will be one of the most physical teams Pella faces this season.

He says Newton and Knoxville were good non district opponents for them because they were both physical teams that helped them prepare for district play. He says it’s also important that the players stay grounded and continue to focus on improving every week, especially coming off a 55-0 win.

You can hear tomorrow’s game with Eric Gotschall and Randy Sikkema streaming live on kniakrls.com starting with the ore game at 7pm and kickoff at 7:30pm. There will also be a delayed broadcast around 10:30pm tomorrow night on 92.1 FM KRLS
