It wasn’t as easy as it may appear but Pella recorded their third consecutive shutout with a 35-0 win at Oskaloosa last night and have outscord their opponents 167-14.

The Little Dutch scored twice within 1:30 of each other in the first quarter to take a 13-0 lead. After a defensive stop that gave Pella the ball at Oskaloosa’s 34 yard line Deckar Lynch scored on a 12 yard run, then Oskaloosa fumbled the ensuing kickoff which Pella recovered at the Oskaloosa 22 yard line and five plays later Sam Davis scored on a one yard run. Neither team scored in the second quarter and Pella led 13-0 at halftime.

The Little Dutch added two more scores as Spencer Boeyink scored on a 19 yard run in the third quarter and Austin Fuller added a five yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Pella defense was again the difference maker all night as they gave the offense short fields to work with as three of Pella’s five scoring drives started inside Oskaloosa’s 35 yard line and they held Oskaloosa to 116 total yards while Pella rolled up 357 yards .

Pella’s leading rusher Deckar Lynch left the game in the second quarter and didn’t return with an ankle injury but still led the team with 75 yards rushing, it’s believed to be just a sprain and will be further evaluated. Teag Klyn was 10-17 passing with a touchdown and an interception, and Spencer Boeyink was 2-2 for a combined 156 yards . Pella improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Class 3A District 7 play while Oskaloosa dropped to 2-2 and 1-1 in the district. Pella will be home to celebrate Homecoming next Friday hosting Centerville.
