With the final extended weekend of the summer upon us, there will be increased traffic on area roads and waterways. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat encourages motorists and boaters to use extra caution during this busy weekend. He says every year, there are accidents on the roads and lakes during holiday weekends and it’s important to use good judgment, drive responsibly and make sure not to drink and drive. Goemaat says area law enforcement will be out patrolling the roads and doing their part to keep everyone safe.
