The Pella Christian boys cross country team turned in another great performance yesterday at Centerville finishing fourth behind Knoxville, Ottumwa, and Fort Madison, while the girls, shorthanded, finished 10th.

Skyler Giddings led the way finishing fourth in 16:33, Josh Meyer was seventh in 17:03.

The girls squad were light on numbers as Michaela Martin was unable to attend, Megan Ferguson is injured and Maria Van Wolde was ill and they finished 10th. Sarah Brandsen continued her strong season with a second place finish in 15:53 to lead the Eagles. Coach Jocelyn Meinders said she was pleased with the oerformances as they were again competing against mostly larger schools and most everyone improved their times from a year ago. She said they’re looking forward to Monday’s LHC meet at Knoxville to see how they compete as they prepare for Districts/Regionals.
