So far this week our latest Arts Midwest guests have visited the elementary and middle schools in Knoxville along with Melcher-Dallas school and the 3M Corporation. Today, Beauty and Melody continues their tour of the area with two performances for Knoxville High School students in the Middle School Auditorium before ending the week with a public concert tomorrow night. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says the ensemble has done a great job in the schools and thinks the community will really enjoy their performance.

In addition to performing traditional Mandarin Chinese music the 12 member ensemble also shares some of their culture with attendees, something Dr. Flack says is a great experience for all involved. He says not only is this a unique opportunity for a community the size of Knoxville, it’s also affordable. Saturday’s concert will begin at 7pm in the Knoxville Middle School auditorium. Tickets are available in advance for $7 at Peace Tree Brewing Company, The Next Chapter and Knoxville School Administration Office and will also be available at the door.
