The Marion County Extension Office and Marion County Master Gardeners are teaming up this fall to present three hands-on courses to help area residents get their yards and gardens ready for winter. The first of the three programs will be held on Saturday the 16th and will focus on fall lawn care and winterizing. Marion County Extension Program Director Dale Miller will teach attendees proper fall mowing, water, fertilization, weed control, and seeding techniques. The next course will touch on putting your garden to bed for the season and the following Saturday’s focus will be on pruning and winterizing trees and shrubs. The workshops will take place at a private residence between Knoxville and Pella at 1828 Highway T15 from 10:30am until noon. All three courses are free and open to the public.
