With crop yields for corn down considerably from last year, prices have increased. Justin Huebner from Two Rivers Cooperative tells KNIA/KRLS News that corn prices are 25% higher than they were last year. He also says that farmers can not afford another down year for production. Huebner says that all things considered, harvest is going pretty well. Beans are nearly completed and farmers are getting over 50 bushels per acre, which is just below the yields for last year. Farmers are averaging 140 bushels per acre, compared to 185 from last year.
