For the second straight year, Knoxville will run in the class 3A state boys cross country meet next Saturday. The Panthers have been outstanding all season winning their own invitational, the Little Hawkeye Conference and finishing second in the district are just some of the highlights. While many of the guys were slightly disappointed that they did not win the District, Senior Lead Runner Jamie VanderVeer says they have a bigger trophy and a bigger banner they want to bring back home. Coach Mike Moats is confident they can not only challenge for first place but actually win it. He says it there will be three or four teams in the running, and hopes Knoxville can be one of those four.
