On September 19th, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began the draw-down of Lake Red Rock. Assistant Ops Manager John Holt says that the lake level has decreased significantly and will continue until the conservation pool is at 732 feet, ten feet less than the typical conservation pool. Holt says that so far the migrating water fowl that have been flying from Minnesota and Canada have been effected the most because of the lack of water which leads to less vegetation and cover for the birds. The draw-down is expected to last until Mid-December.
