The Pella volleyball team ended the regular season with a bang last night sweeping Knoxville 25-14, 25-11 and 25-22, completing their second straight undefeated Little Hawkeye Conference season, and won their second consecutive outright conference title.
After Pella dominated the first two games, Knoixville didn’t go down easy as they jumped out to an 11-3 lead in game three, but after a timeout, the 5th ranked Lady Dutch came out re energized and refused to lose eventually winning 25-22.
Once again Hali Steenhoek and Kelsi Rempe were forces to be reckoned with up front for Pella as Steenhoek had 14 kills and four blocks, and Rempe pounded down 13 kills, Lindsay Bentzinger also contributed nine kills and nine digs. Brooke Fessler had 40 assists to go along with four blocks and two ace serves.
Pella has gone 14-0 in matches in the LHC the last two seasons, and has won 42 of their last 44 conference sets which Coach Bob Fessler says is a tribute to their hard work and dedication.
Also the last two seasons to date, Pella has compiled a 73-11 overall match record. This season they are 35-5 and now prepare for the post season which begins Monday when they host Carlisle.
