Hundreds of children will be running around our communities Saturday evening and it’s important for everyone to take the necessary safety precautions. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says parents need to make sure children are either wearing bright colored clothing or bring a flashlight with them so they can be seen by motorists. Pella Police Chief Michael Marcinkowski adds that it’s important for motorists to be aware and alert when traveling during Beggar’s night as children tend to get excited and may not be thinking about how to cross roads safely while trick-or-treating. Beggar’s night will be held from 6-8pm Saturday in all area communities.
