Just over a week remains before the polls open for the 2010 midterm election but many Marion County residents have already cast their vote. As of Friday, 4,773 absentee ballots have been requested in the county and 3,187 have been returned to the Auditor’s office. Republicans lead in both totals with 2,389 ballots requested and 1,590 returned thus far, compared to the Democrat’s 1,637 requested and 1,168 returned. Absentee ballots must be turned into the Marion County Auditor’s office by the time the polls close on November 2nd or postmarked by the 1st.
