A Marion County resident has graduated from the Army’s basic combat training. Reserve Private Ashley E. McBride spent nine weeks at Fort Jackson in Columbia South Carolina studying the Army mission, history, tradition and core values. She also trained in basic combat skills, bayonet training, map reading and basic first aid among others. Ashley is the daughter of Steve McBride of Knoxville and Latonia Smith of Curtiss, Wisconsin and a 2010 graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School.
