Only one winner is selected nationally each year for the Carl Towley Award, the most prestigious award bestowed by the Journalism Education Association. This year, the award will be given to Ann Visser, Pella High School Publications Advisor. The Towley Award is presented to a JEA member whose work is unusually beneficial and of superior value to the national JEA and to scholastic journalism. The decision was announced last Wednesday and Visser will receive the award in November during the JEA’s national convention in Kansas City.
