A 21 year-old Knoxville man who was arrested for attempting to sell marijuana to an officer has received a deferred Judgement. Matthew Choung Yang pled guilty to a controlled substance violation, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, in September after his arrest on August 12th. At his sentencing Friday Yang’s charges were deferred by Judge Terry Wilson. Yang received a three year probation term and must pay $885 in fines.

Yang was arrested the Thursday of the Knoxville Nationals after attempting to sell marijuana to a Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force Officer who was working at the Knoxville Raceway. He pled guilty at his arraignment on September 3rd.
