Thanks to the draw-down at Lake Red Rock, the Corps of Engineers has been able to work on the boat ramps at South Overlook, Whitebreast and the Marina. Park ranger Junifer Kruse says that the boat-way’s at the boat ramps were not being used and filling up with silt. Due to flood recovery funds, the Corps was able to fill holes and take away falling hazards to make the area safer for boaters. In addition, Kruse says that they may be able to add an extra lane to the ramps. The project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2011.
