At the Pella City Council meeting on Monday, the council awarded a contract for the Main Street and Marion Street sewer lining project to Visu-Sewer out of Des Moines for $129,747.50. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini says that the city was very happy with the bids for the project because their engineer estimated that the construction cost would be $172,000. Nardini adds that the project will consist of approximately 3,000 linear feet of pipe on Main Street and around 600 linear feet on Marion Street. The contractor plans on being done with the project by April 30th, 2011.
