CROP Walk Raises More than $3,000 to Help Fight Hunger

This year’s Knoxville CROP walk to fight hunger had a great turnout this past weekend and was able to raise a large amount of money to help those in need. Walk organizer Pat Finan tells KNIA/KRLS news more than 70 walkers attended the annual event which raised over $3,000. Twenty-five percent, or $750, of the proceeds will go to the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Knoxville with the remainder of the funds going to help alleviate worldwide hunger through Church World Service. Finan says they were concerned that weather could have been an issue due to the late date of this year’s walk but both the sun and the community came out and showed great support for the cause.
