Central College football player Cory Nikkel is driven to help others, and that obsession to serve is taking him to the Australian Outback.  The former Pella Christian standout and current tight end for the Dutch will leave for Townsville, Queensland, in March, where he will spend six weeks with the Youth With a Mission helping the residents in an Aborigine village.

has been involved in a number of service missions while at Central, where he maintains a 3.76 grade point average as an English major.  When he’s not studying for school or football, Nikkel is writing.  He plans to publish a book within a year or two, and hopes to be a pastor eventually.  In the more immediate future, Cory is trying to earn his way into the starting line-up for the Dutch, as Central will try and regain the Iowa Conference crown in 2011.
