Marion County residents have just a few days left to register for possible disaster assistance. Last month, the Federal Emergency Management Agency granted Governor Chet Culver’s request to extend the registration period until November 12th. So far more than 13,000 Iowans have registered for federal assistance and more than $25 million has been approved through the FEMA program. Homeowners and renters who have received flood or storm damage between June 1st and August 31st of this year may be eligible for assistance. Registration can be completed by calling 1-800-621-3362 or online at disasterassistance.gov.
