Last weekend fur-bearing season opened up in Marion County. State Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News that this year bobcats are allowed to be trapped. Kenyon says that they have monitored bobcats for years using radio collars and now the population is high enough in Marion County. Kenyon adds that it is against the law to have a trap within 200 yards of a home or road. Fur-bearing season for most animals ends on January 31st, except for beavers which are allowed to be trapped until April 1st.
