Harvey Man Dies in Hunting Accident in Mahaska County

A hunting accident Sunday evening near 305th and Dean in Mahaska County took the life of a Marion County man. According to an investigation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources 41 year-old Chris Durham of Harvey was injured by a gunshot wound while hunting with seven others near Bussey. He was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the incident remains under investigation by the Iowa DNR.

The DNR, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, and Bussey Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
