The annual Knoxville Crop Walk to fight hunger will take place next weekend. This year’s walk will begin and end at the Knoxville High School and walkers are able to choose between the classic 3.1 mile route through Marion County Park or a one mile walk along the bike trail. Walk organizer Pat Finan says participants are asked to obtain sponsorships for the event and all of the money will go to help fight hunger. Finan says most people don’t realize how big of an issue hunger is locally, nationally and worldwide. Registration will begin at 1pm on Sunday November 14th with the walk beginning at 1:30. Snacks and drinks will be provided after the walk and all participants will receive prizes from area businesses.
Those who would like more information or a sponsor form can call organizer Pat Finan at 842-5148 or email him at email@example.com.
