Race fans can see another display at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. The 1932 big car called the Prison Car is now on display. According to Museum Executive Director Bob Baker…the Prison Car got its name because it was assembled by Lyle E. May and fellow inmates at the State Prison of Southern Michigan as a project. Upon May’s release, officials at the prison allowed May to have the car and it was raced on I-M-C-A and Central States Racing Association in the Midwest. Baker says the car was successful on the circuit and races several times around the Midwest. Also, a reminder to race fans, that the Third Thursday Sprint Car 101 Series will be this Thursday as the Hall of Fame will honor Former Driver and Car Owner Mike Brooks.
