The first Sunday of November each year, clocks are set back one hour to end Daylight Saving Time. At 2:00am Sunday clocks will “fall back” to standard time after “springing ahead” an hour the second Sunday of March to begin Daylight Saving Time. The purpose of Daylight Saving Time was to save energy for war production during World War I by taking advantage of the later hours of daylight in April through October.
