Farmers are taking to the fields again this fall and applying anhydrous ammonia to their land. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat says drivers traveling on county roadways need to use caution when approaching these slower moving vehicles. In addition, farmers and those applying anhydrous ammonia are asked to make sure the tanks are locked and secured when they leave the fields, as the gas is still a common meth ingredient. Those who see suspicious activities near anhydrous tanks are asked to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 828-2220.
