Though many stores across the county have gotten started early this year, Black Friday officially kicks off the holiday shopping season. When purchasing gifts for your loved ones for Christmas, and anytime of the year, it’s important to remember to shop locally. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Office Coordinator Jessie Wilson says by doing as much shopping locally as possible, the money spent here will stay in Knoxville and help boost not only our economy but the community as a whole. Wilson says there are a wide variety of gift ideas available right here in town ranging from electronics to jewelry, books to gift cards, and recommends checking out the holiday specials here in town first.
