With one of the warmest and driest October’s in Iowa’s history, it’s easy to forget that winter is right around the corner. Today is Winter Weather Awareness Day and Iowa State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says that cold weather is right around the corner. Hillaker says that we are in a La Nina weather pattern currently which could lead to a colder and wetter winter than usual. Hillaker adds that the last four winters have been colder than usual and the last three have been wetter that average.
