Unemployment Decreases in Marion County for October

Though unemployment in the U.S. remained unchanged and increased in Iowa the rate of jobless workers in Marion County decreased slightly for the month of October. According to figures released by Iowa Workforce Development, Marion County’s unemployment rate dropped from 6.1% in August to 6% in October. The rate of jobless workers in Iowa increased three tenths of a percent last month to 6.7 percent. The current number of unemployed persons in the United States is estimated at 14.8 million, leaving the national unemployment rate steady at 9.6 percent.
