As reported earlier this week on KNIA/KRLS 13,094 Marion County residents cast a ballot in this year’s midterm election, including 5,682 absentee votes. Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia says voter turnout was excellent this year and exceeded totals from the last midterm election. A total of 776 more ballots were cast this year than in 2006, including 2,164 more absentee ballots. During the 2008 presidential election 17,115 total votes were cast including 7,337 absentee ballots.
