Repair work has been taking place at three boatways at Lake Red Rock for over two months to make the area safer for boaters. Park Ranger Junifer Kruse tells KNIA/KRLS News that the boatways at Whitebreast and South Overlook are nearly completed, while there is still some work left to be done on the ramp at the marina. Kruse adds that the primary objective was to fill holes that developed over time, because the holes would fill up with mud and be very dangerous at night due to low visibility. In addition, they were able to add an extra lane to the boatways at Whitebreast and South Overlook to cut down on boater traffic. The contractor working on the projects is Corell out of Des Moines.
