Time away from practice for fall semester final exams seemed to have greatly affected the Central College Women’s basketball team yesterday, as poor shooting doomed the Dutch in a 68-40 home-court loss to Grand View University.  Central made just 14 of their 67 shots from the floor, including 3-of-18 from beyond the three-point arc.  The Dutch tied the game 14-14 with 11:37 remaining in the first half, then were outscored 22-to-6 before the intermission.  

Forwards Alyssa Schwartz and Haley Brillhart led Central in scoring with 8 points apiece, and Brillhart had a team-high 7 rebounds.  The Central women are now 3-8 overall and are off for Christmas break, but will return to Pella in 10 days to begin preparing for the remainder of the Iowa Conference schedule.
