Christie Vilsack, Executive Director of the Iowa Initiative to Reduce Unintended Pregnancies was in Knoxville yesterday afternoon to discuss the program with area health care professionals. The initiative is a five year research project working to reduce the high rate of unintended pregnancies in women ages 18-30. Vilsack spoke with representatives from Knoxville Hospital and Clinics and Marion County Public Health to discuss the issue in hope of reducing unintended pregnancies through networking, research and public outreach.
