With yesterday’s warm weather and warm temperatures predicted again for today, the DNR is urging caution when venturing upon the ice at Lake Red Rock or in local ponds and rivers. Ken Kenyon, Conservation Officer for the DNR tells KNIA KRLS that area ice is currently honeycombed, making walking on it potentially hazardous. He suggests never walking on ice until there are three to four inches of clear ice visible. A few days of below freezing temperatures should bring a return to normal frozen conditions for area bodies of water. Again, please use caution or avoid walking on lakes, ponds and rivers in the area
