Knoxville Mayor Don Zoutte presented a local resident with a certification of appreciation at this week’s city council meeting. Mike Fisher has been the sole proprietor of the Knoxville Skate Pit since 1980 and the certificate honors his dedication. The Skate Pit opened in the early 1970s it has provided many hours of entertainment for thousands of area youth. Zoutte says the purpose of the certificate is to honor Fisher’s countless hours of preparation and his endeavor to provide expertise and entertainment for these children. He says the Skate pit is a very fine addition to Knoxville and he and the City wanted to express their sincerest appreciation and gratitude for Fisher’s more than 30 years of dedication.
