Kaleb Korver, a former Pella student athlete, has earned the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Korver, a guard for the Creighton Bluejay’s, averaged 4 points-per-game, 3.0 rebounds-per-game and 3.0 assists-per-game during the period of December 20th-26th. His team won both contests that week, against Western Illinois and Samford.

Korver is a two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week this year. In order to qualify for this award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2. They also must have completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Every week, the conference honors its student-athletes for their athletic performance for a one-week period and academic success in the classroom.

Korver currently maintains a 3.32 grade-point average in business management.

The Valley’s Scholar-Athlete program is now in it’s 12th year of existence. It is sponsored by Prairie Farms, Roberts and Hiland Dairies.
