As the 9th annual KNIA/KRLS food drive continues, many local businesses and organizations are helping out in a big way. According to Knoxville Hormel Plant Manager Troy Hawkshead on Wednesday they plan to donate 1,700 pounds of Hormel pepperoni and $750 in cash. In addition, Hawkshead says there are currently 4 teams competing within the plant who he believes they alone should be able to completely fill the KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio and the corporate Hormel plans to send down a donation later this week as well.

Also, the Marion County Farm Bureau also recently donated $1,000 for food drive and several other area businesses have filled up multiple boxes since the efforts began in early November.

So far this season the Big Red Radio has been filled twice and area residents are asked to drop off non-perishable food items or paper goods to help the less fortunate in the area this holiday season.
