A celebration was held Tuesday afternoon for a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy who is retiring after 28 years of service. Lieutenant Tim Cox has been with the sheriff’s office since 1982 and as 2010 comes to an end so does his time as a deputy. Sheriff Ron Goemaat says everyone at his department hopes Lieutenant Cox enjoys his retirement as he has expressed plans to spend more time with his grandchildren and pursue some of his hobbies and interests.
