The first snow of the season fell on Marion County Tuesday and with cold temperatures in the forecast roads in the area may continue to be slick. Sheriff Ron Goemaat encourages drivers to be extra cautious when traveling and be sure to slow down. He says the bulk of winter accidents happen with the first few snow or ice storms of the season. Goemaat says it will take everyone awhile to get accustom to driving in slippery conditions after having dry roads this fall and while they may not look slick there could be black ice so it’s important to take things slow.
