Shotgun Deer season opens up across Iowa on Saturday. State Game Warden Ken Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News that before going hunting, it’s important to remember to wear a solid blaze orange jacket. Kenyon says that while a blaze orange jacket is required, it’s always a good idea to wear as much blaze orange as possible. He says that a blaze orange hat may be the best thing to wear because often times your head is the first thing people see. State Game Warden Eric Hoffman adds that hunters are allowed one deer of any sex per tag. Tags can be purchased at the County Recorders Office. Shotgun Deer season ends on January 13th.
