For the past 33 years, Harold Van Stryland has been a foreign language teacher at Pella Christian High School. Now the long time instructor has announced that he will retire at the end of the school year. Pella Christian High School Principal Darryl De Ruiter says that Van Stryland originally started out as a German teacher but years later started teaching Spanish. He adds that it’s hard to replace a guy like Harold, but the search process has begun. To this day, Van Stryland is the only Spanish teacher that has ever been employed by Pella Christian High School.
