2010 was a strong year for the Pella Chamber of Commerce. Mike Schuring, owner of Franklin Street Clothing and outgoing Chamber president says the biggest success was the Pella Bucks initiative that ran through the holidays. $100,000 worth of Pella Bucks were sold in three days in a partnership with the Marion County Bank. As of Monday, approximately 86% of the bucks had been spent, providing a boost to the local economy.
