The Central College women’s basketball team fell behind early against Luther College on Wednesday night after shooting just 14 percent from the floor in the first half. They found themselves in a 13-31 hole heading into the intermission.

Luther College was able to extend their lead to 26 before central put together a 16-2 run to cut the Norse lead to a dozen, but it was too little too late and Luther went on to win 64-46 despite committing 32 turnovers.

Central’s record is now 3-9 on the year and the Dutch are still looking for their first conference win. Sarah Paulson was the leading scorer for the Dutch in her first game of the year, with 16 points.

With the win, Luther College improves to 5-7 on the year, with a 1-2 conference record.

Central will host Coe College in a women’s-men’s doubleheader Saturday, in the P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium starting at 2PM. Coe will enter the contest with a 10-2 record overall and a 3-1 conference mark.
