A much-improved second half provided little impact on the outcome of Saturday’s Central College women’s basketball game, as the Dutch were defeated 70-60 at Coe College.

In a game that was broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS and streamed live at, the Central women found themselves down by 15 at halftime – after shooting just 24 percent from the floor in the first half – but made over 45 percent of their shots in the second half to keep the game competitive.

Haley Brillhart’s 12 points led the way for Central, while Kelsey Schuring chipped in 11.  The Central women fall to 4-16 overall and 1-10 in the Iowa Conference, with three home games coming up on the schedule; starting with a game against Dubuque on Wednesday.
