Just over a year after bringing two new members into the family, Dave and Andrea Vanderhoff of Pella say everything has gone more smoothly than they could have hoped after adopting a brother and sister from Haiti. The family made headlines last year when they finally were united with Carl, now 4 and Roselande, now 7 after devastating earthquakes struck the children’s home country of Haiti last January. The Vanderhoffs say the children adapted quickly to a new country and new culture and add their other children quickly accepted them as members of the family.
Mrs. Vanderhoff says she is slowly introducing the children to school, with half days at first as she continues some home schooling.
