In a follow up to a story we first posted earlier this week in regards to a dog fight in Knoxville, city officials have determined the dogs are “dangerous animals” as defined by city code. Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news the hearing about the dogs was held Thursday and was overseen by City Manager Dick Schrad. Since the pit bulls have been classified as “dangerous” the owners have 30 days to remove them from City limits or have them destroyed. If the owners do not comply they will be charged with a misdemeanor offense. One individual was transported to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Sunday after she received severe injuries to her foot when she attempted to break up the fight that occurred in a home on South Attica Road.
