An impressive outside shooting performance helped guide the Central College men’s basketball team to a 78-66 home win against Loras yesterday.  The Dutch connected on 10-of-17 attempts from beyond the arc, and shot 55 percent from the floor to defeat the Duhawks for the second time this season and earn their first sweep of Loras since the 1991-92 season.

Turner was brilliant for the Dutch, topping the 20-point mark for the third straight game – as he racked up 23 points – while sophomore Jacob Winkler came off the bench to record his first double-double with a career-best 16-point, 11-rebound performance.  In all, Central had five players score ten points or more.

The win puts the Central men above .500 with a 9-8 overall mark and a 5-4 record in league play.
