Knoxville residents are invited to lace up their ice skates, put on their hat, mittens and jacket and come enjoy the latest recreational addition to Knoxville. The new ice rink at Young’s Park will open at 6pm Friday following a ribbon cutting at 5pm. The Junior Chamber of Commerce proposed the idea to the Knoxville City Council in December, city crews have been working on the rink ever since and Mother Nature has finally cooperated. The rink will be open to the public during daylight hours with adult supervised skating each weekend from 6-10pm. The Junior Chamber will also be selling hot dogs and hot chocolate near the rink during the supervised hours.
