With a new legislative session under way and after a strong Republican showing in November’s general election, there are lots of new faces around the State House. Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven says the first days of a new legislative session are filled with committee meetings to determine new rules and meet-and-greet sessions. Van Engelenhoven adds that one piece of advice given to incoming Legislators is to understand that the process takes time and they may not be able to accomplish all their campaign promises the first day.
