The big concern with the Knoxville boys last night was, could they come out and play well after a disheartening loss on Tuesday to South Tama. The answer was yes, however Grinnell proved to be too much in the long run and defeated the Panthers 62-37. Knoxville came out and make 50% of its shots in the first quarter, but Grinnell’s stifling defense prevented the Panthers from getting good shots and forced 16 Knoxville turnovers. Coach Clint Driftmier liked the way his team started. Jamie VanderVeer led Knoxville with 14 points. The Panthers fall to 3-12 on the season and 1-9 in the conference. Oskaloosa comes to Knoxville on Tuesday.
